Unrivaled amongst his peers, Aaron William Benjamin holds international and local bowling records. Some of which against star studded teams like India U19. Locally, he holds the age group record for the most wickets taken by a fast bowler over 3 seasons (48 wickets).
He first burst on to the international scene in late 2018, capturing the wickets of the Indian U19 captain and vice captain as his debut wickets. Such a feat was only the beginning for him as he proceeded to wreak havoc against the Afghan U19 team, snagging the wickets of both their openers in his first 3 overs. However, in a losing effort, he was UAE’s only diamond in the rough.
Looking to penetrate his way into the men’s team hasn’t been simple due to the UAE’s reliance on old medium pacers. However, we think that he has the pace to far exceed where he is at now, as he is only a mere 19 years old and bowling at 130kmph, an achievement quite amazing for a young associate bowler.
