Quinton De Cock the New ODI Captain for South Africa

The 27-year-old boasts 115 ODI caps with 4 907 runs. An exciting talent from the beginning, De Kock has been one of South Africa’s standout and most consistent batsmen for several seasons. He has an ODI average of 45.01, 14 centuries, 24 half-centuries and a high score of 178 (of 113) against Australia at SuperSport Park in September 2016.

On the move, CSA Director of Cricket, Graeme Smith:

“We all know the quality of the player that Quinton de Kock has grown to become. Over the years, we have watched him grow in confidence and become one of the top ODI wicket-keeper batsmen in the world. “He has a unique outlook and manner in which he goes about his business and is tactically very street smart. We are confident that the new leadership role will bring out the best in him as a cricketer.”

Team India goes 1 up in the Great Kiwi Challenge

Virat Kohli after losing all 3 tosses against the Aussies, finally won a toss today and asked the Kiwis to bat at the Eden Park. The Kiwis went out all guns blazing and they end up with 203/5, with 50’s from Colin Munro, Kane Williamson, and Ross Taylor.

The Chase Champions…

KL Rahul, extending his purple patch!
What a player…. sensational!

Shreyas Iyer, Man of the Match “It was important to build a partnership with Manish. We knew the ground was small so we can make up the run rate later.”

Sums up the match…

First Bowlers then Batsmen made a mockery of the Blackcaps in their own turf

Kane won the toss and that’s it. While batting Swing-and-miss was the situation & while fielding comedy-of-mistakes was the real situation for the Kiwis. If they don’t pull up their socks now, the series is gone and it’s another One-sided affair. At least it is, as of yet.

As the bowlers made a mockery out of the Kiwi batsmen as they put on a ruthless display, restricting the Kiwis to 132/5. It was now the time for the Batters to humiliate them further.

KL Rahul the hero again…
Shreyas the hero of the last match had some fun too…
Next on 29th of Jan…

That’s the Weekly Cricket Buzz for this week, till next time- C ya…
