BCCI @BCCI 100 dismissals and counting for @Wriddhipops in the longest format of the game #PinkBallTest

The bowling has been excellent again but @Wriddhipops has been simply sensational behind the stumps.

Ishant Sharma claimed a 9-fer

Mohandas Menon @mohanstatsman
The last occasion Ishant Sharma claimed a five wicket haul at home – nearly 12 years ago at Bangalore in Dec 2007 against Pak.He was then playing his only 2nd Test match of his career and was just 19 years! Today he is playing his 96th Test match!

In the end, it’s all about the #SpiritOfCricket. #TeamIndia physio, Mr. Nitin Patel attends to Nayeem after he gets hit on the helmet.

Soon, Nayeem Hasan has been also replaced by Taijul Islam.
Vikram Sathaye @vikramsathaye
I think it’s unfair on this Bangladeshi team to face our fast bowlers. There has to be Level A and Level B in test cricket. #INDvsBAN

1998, IND v AUS at Eden – Amazing win for us but what is oft forgotten is we played with 3 spinners with Ganguly opening the bowling. Without taking anything away from Dada, super proud to see the 3 seamers taking all wickets today. Safe to say, we have come a long way in that dept.

More than anything else TEST cricket is crying for a ConTEST. #IndvBan
Swag at Edens
Abhideep Das @Sportingabhi
There may be PM of a nation and CM of a state along with the biggest name in world cricket present at #EdenGardens, but there’s only one ‘Moharaj’ in City of Joy. The roof came down when the cameras showed DADA briefly on the big screen!

Just one simple fact: against this Bangladesh team had it been the conventional red ball test match there would not even be 5000 people watching it. Yest we had 70k. Sport without fans is just an incomplete exercise and for too long fans have been taken for granted.
Cricketwallah @cricketwallah
Never mind how the match has panned out (as yet), great show @SGanguly99
It all ends up to this

HISTORY:
India became the first side ever to win 4 consecutive Tests by margin of an innings.
Not the West Indies of 1980s, not the Aussies of 2000s, but it is the Indian team of the current generation to have achieved it, under Virat Kohli. ??? Congrats.

India’s last 4 Tests:

Privileged to be a part of the #PinkBallTest, was a great experience to play the game in front of a packed Eden Gardens crowd.
Thank you @BCCI & CAB for promoting the D/N Test in India. And a big cheers to our pace bowling trio who took all the wickets in this game. #INDvBAN

Winning by spin is fun but winning by pace is more fun!

Harsha Bhogle @bhogleharsha
Four years ago, against South Africa, India’s spinners took 61 wickets to 9 for the quicks. In this series, spin got but 5 (none in this test) vs 33 to pace. The times, they are a changin’!
And the deserved MOM trophy

9/78 from @ImIshant & it’s all over in India’s first-ever #PinkBallTest at Kolkata! ?Here’s Rudra Dalmia, Executive Director, @PaytmMall handing over a well-deserved Paytm Man of the Match to Ishant Sharma.#INDvBAN @BCCI
So, the history has been made. The first pink ball test in India saw everything, the crowd, the mood, the swag, the josh and the sheer dominance of team India. The Bangladesh team had done for what they were invited, be the guest, take part in a match and for the highest be part of a historic moment. But all of this wouldn’t have been possible without 1 person, Sourav ‘Dada’ Ganguly. Thank you.
